Barabás Lőrinc Quartet /Other Than Unusual album release concert

Trumpet player and producer, Barabás Lőrinc, has been a mover and shaker of the improvisative music scene in Budapest. Over the past decade his club events and bands provided fertile ground for kindred spirits experimenting at the crossroads of jazz and electronica. He gained wider international recognition on events such as the Montreaux Jazz Festival, iTunes Festival in London playing with Valerie June and also shared stage with the likes of Erik Truffaz and Nicola Conte.

The pop-like jazz world of the Lőrinc Barabás Quartet is exciting instrumental music with a hint of electronica, characterized by roguish grooves and pulsating bass runs – the numerous tones of synthesizer and trumpet create a unique musical trend adorned by the traits of the improvisational jazz-rock of the ’70s.

The quartet formation found its final lineup in February 2016 with keyboardist Cséry Zoltán, bass guitarist Herr Attila and drummer Nagy Zsolt.
